Follow up after listening to the “Pub” discussion

I finally listened to the whole of the discussion on psychiatric drugs at St Anne’s Pub. It was good to listen to a few doctors and mental health professionals talk about the effects of medicating people for ADHD and other issues such as the reason why churches are franchising out care concerning mental issues that cannot be substantiated with hard science. I can’t recall who said this on the discussion but one of the interviewees said that the reason that so many children have an attention deficient disorder is because their parents are giving the children the attention they need but instead just give them a remote for the TV or a video control to keep them out of their way. The professionals that were interviewed did not support any of their claims from Scripture and did not claim to have a religious view but they were in line with some of the reasons used to support a nouthetic counseling approach subscribed to by Southern Seminary, NANC, and CCEL.
