Jesus Camp Documentary

Filed under: Church — Michael Pate @ 10:39 am

There is a documentary showing across the country (unfortunately it is not slated to appear in Louisville) about children in a Pentecostal church and the things being taught them. Growing up in a Pentecostal church I know it can be easy to point and tear their interpretations and methods apart (such as being slain in the spirit) but I want to see the whole film to give it a fair shake. At the website you can view three trailers about the movie.
The website is: www.jesuscampthemovie.com

  1. What’s the closest showing–do you know?

What angle are the producers coming from?

  2. I am pretty sure Nashville is the closest showing…they have the whole list of towns on their site at http://www.jesuscampthemovie.com/theatreList.html

I think they are coming from a balanced approach (trying maybe) by talking to those who endorse and others who disagree with the church. It just seems though to me they are just taking a fringe over-the-top church and making a mountain out of a molehill.
