Right on bro. I have wondered about this too. That Paul was so dedicated and so solid on the foundation of "his gospel" that if you disagree - you burn. What a prideful comment!!!! yeah right!

Who would say this today? Here's the thing though - we must say it in love, with brokenness, weaping and zeal. Otherwise you're just another Calvinist who cant get anyone to listen to you.

I really appreciate you posting the quotes of Luther - peace is possible, truth at all costs...something like that. We are the peacemakers. We too were justified by faith ALONE. Its easy to take this doctrine and boast in that you know it and confuse that zeal in your heart with a zeal for theology. I am rambling here. I guess it all boils down to this: are we excited when someone does not agree with us? "we finally get to debate!!!" and underneath it all, we really would wish them to stay that way so that we could have a consistant strawman to break down. OR do we weap b/c they have somehow missed the true Gospel. They are dying. Yeah they boast now, but I guarantee they weep in thier closet or at least in thier conscience (believe me, I know.). Do we really wish for thier understanding and right knowledge?

It has been my experience that a good many "calvinsts" love the fact that thier is an opposing force (though they would never say that). They get a thrill when faced with thier "enemy". (believe me, I know!!!)

do I see a peacemaker when I look in the mirror? Do I go to His word for another round of ammunition? or for the bread of Life???
